PEN Y GAER OLD SCHOOL – CARMARTHEN 2011

With period properties our first consideration is to try to preserve the existing period detail, but the windows in this former Primary school in rural Carmarthenshire were beyond repair. We therefore set about duplicating the windows incorporating double glazed units and matching the style, proportions and moulding details.
The windows were made from air dried sweet chestnut as supplied by Whitney Saw Mills – Herefordshire.
